Our History
BMR Crane Hire was established in 1996 by Brian and Dorothy Ramsamy. Earning a reputation as a “Can Do” operator, Brian soon proved himself as a trusted local supplier of crane hire services in the Mackay and surrounding districts. Fast forward almost 30 years and it’s time for Brian to transition into a well-deserved retirement.
Race Ford (Brian’s nephew) and his wife Hayley purchased BMR Crane Hire in 2023. Race is no newcomer to the crane industry with his career also starting in 1996 performing steel erection and various crane projects as a local Mackay teenager. Two weeks after coming of age, he obtained his crane and rigging tickets and began his career in taxi crane hire.
Race has held numerous positions, advancing in his career in both field and office-based roles. These include:

During his career, Race has made industry connections at local, national and international levels as well as gaining respect from all levels of management. To complement his field-based roles, Race has acquired:

- Cert IV in Frontline Management
- Cert IV in Engineering
- ICAM training
- S1, S2, S3 & G2 Supervisor
- Cert III in Demolition (expired).
- First Aid and Mental Health First Aid
